Hi, I'm Clare. I'm the original Secret Chocolate Eater.

I spent years developing chocolate products in the chocolate industry.

And I loved it. But something never quite sat right.

Time and again, I watched brilliant ideas become sweeter, cheaper and more processed as the realities of large-scale production took over.

I always wondered what I'd make if I got to do it my way.

Turns out, it was this.

I went on to study nutrition and started experimenting in my own kitchen with dates, nuts and really good chocolate.

I wanted to make something using simple, carefully chosen ingredients — but ingredients that tasted like something you'd genuinely look forward to eating.

And eventually, Secret Chocolate Eaters was born.

Still made by me.

Every bite is developed by me, made by me and taste-tested more times than I'm prepared to admit.

There's no factory or production line. Every batch is made by hand in my Oxford kitchen.

And then something rather lovely happened.

In 2026, my Hazelnut Energy Bites won a Great Taste Award.

For a little business that started in my kitchen, that meant an enormous amount. It wasn’t just a lovely shiny star for the box — it was independent recognition that you can make something with great ingredients and still make it taste ridiculously good.
